By miss Kerri Ann We teach the kids to sing a song while they wash their hands. Here's a great video of Joseph singing the A, B, C song while he washes his hands. Setting up a routine like this often helps young children learn to take cae of their own needs. Btw, Joseph washed his hands about 5 times in a half hour around the time this video was taken. I think he just wanted to sing!

By Miss Kerri Ann We put the bikes away and broke out the skis and sleds today. It's hard to believe that winter is already here! Here are some pictures of Jada and Daniel skiing and Peter and Georgia sledding. I have applied for a grant to buy cross country skis for all of the kids to use and if we receive the funds, we will be skiing on the groomed trail next to the Charter School as part of Miss Kathy's PE program. I should know about these funds in the next few weeks and will let you know! Earlier in the day, Daniel, Jada, Peter, Georgia and I practiced using compliments. First, I asked them to tell me what a compliment is. Here is what they said: Jada: "You put compost in to snow in it." Daniel: "A worm stuck out of an apple." Georgia: "When you put snow out and you put it in" Peter: "If snow falls in a tree and someone throws it on Patrick and SpongeBob." I think it's safe to say that this was a new word for them and that snow is on the mind. It was so fun to see thier faces light up when their friends said nice things about them! By: Miss Christa The thick snow this morning didn't stop our little adventurers from braving the sticky, and sometimes slick conditions we had on our playground path. Soon we will have to get the snow blower out to keep the paths clear. Winter is here!!! By: Miss Christa The votes are in and our class pet now has a name... Introducing Mr Kiki!!! The choices were either Sripey or Mr Kiki everyone had a chance to say which name they liked the most and the Kiki's won. After cleaning out my tiny fridge I found a small thing of worms from a few months ago immediately I thought they were no longer with us, however I was shocked to see them all alive. So this morning we added them to our worm compost container and fed a bug plump one to Mr Kiki. We all took turns saying hi to him and petting his slimy back, we are all glad to have agreed on a name for him! |
