Rock exploration!

Good afternoon friends and family!! I hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful weekend! Today at school, I had a plan to play a game that would help the students learn more about their friends. However, the kiddos and I ended up making things with shiny red rocks. That is what's so great about the Reggio Amelia philosophy; we think we'll be learning about one thing, but the kids tell me they are interested in something else. Every day is an adventure!! I observed the preschoolers were using the rocks to make faces. I asked if this was because last week we made self portraits and they responded "yes those were fun!" Today is also my birthday and everyone treated me like a queen! Complete with a crown and chocolate cake!!! Yumm! Have a wonderful night!!
