Our staff
Our highly qualified teachers know that young children learn through their relationships and through their experiences. For this reason, our teachers create a warm and nurturing learning environment in both our indoor and outdoor classrooms, and strive to cultivate each child's sense of wonder, curiosity and capacity. We are a small community and a little family.
Ms. Julie
School Director
Julie Bridgewater has been working and living in Steamboat Springs since 2010 when she moved here with her husband Gene Bridgewater. They are grateful to be raising their two children Leela and Cal in this wonderful area and enjoy the many outdoor adventures the mountains have to offer.
Raised in Colorado, Julie attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned a BA in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, graduating in 2004.
After graduation, Julie worked in a research assistant for a professor on the CU campus until moving to the Aspen area where she found her way into the field of Early Childhood Education. Never looking back, she found deep purpose and connection in teaching young children and has spent the last 18 years in the classroom as well as taking courses and trainings to expand on her skills and knowledge when working as an Early Childhood Educator.
Most recently Julie has completed a year long course from the Early Childhood Coaching Institute, an Early Childhood Council Leadership Alliance and Colorado Department of Early Childhood approved accreditation, to earn a Certificate in Early Childhood Coaching. She is extremely humbled and excited by this opportunity to become the Director of the ECC at North Routt Charter School and is thrilled to expand her skill set and impact the future development of the program. She hopes to bring her passions for teaching and the natural environment to the ECC and build on the foundations and values that the charter school embodies as part of the North Routt Community.
