While the snow has been melting, we have been having tons of fun outside! Our playground is getting back to normal, so we can explore a lot easier. We are still working on our giraffe exploration project. This week we have started to "build a zoo" with cardboard boxes and popsicle sticks. We were more interested in pulling the popsicle sticks off after we glued them on :)

We are working on making a life size giraffe in our classroom! There was a lot of interest in them when we mentioned that a baby giraffe was born a few weeks ago at the Denver zoo. For the project, we are painting toilet paper rolls yellow for the legs and ripping up brown pieces of paper to glue on the body.  We have also been working on stringing objects on to colorful strings which can be difficult at times.

Some Colorado Early Learning and Developmental Guidelines included are:
  • Fine Motor: The developing ability to move the small muscles.
  • Interaction with Adults: The developing ability to respond to and engage with adults.
  • Interaction with Peers: The developing ability to respond to and engage with other children.
