Fun in the sun!

Here are some pictures from Tuesday of the kiddos enjoying their time outside. :)
​The Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines that are included here are:
  • ​Gross Motor: Move from one place to another by walking and running with basic control and coordination.
  • Fine Motor: Hold small objects in one hand and sometimes use both hands together to manipulate objects.
  • Health: Demonstrate the stamina and energy to participate in daily activities.
  • Recognition of Ability: Experiment with different ways of making things happen.
  • Impulse Control: Respond positively to choices and limits set by an adult to help control their behavior.

Play doh fun with animals!

This morning we got out the play doh and decided to make animal tracks in it! Some of the things that the kiddos were saying while we were participating in this activity were:
"Look, Addie, look Addie, look at those prints!". -Sophie
"I'm making a carrot". -Addie (using orange play doh)
"The tiger's stepping!". -Addie
"I using the tiger!". -Addie
"I want new color". -Finley
"I making prints!". -Sophie

  • ​Fine Motor: The developing ability to move the small muscles.
  • Interaction with Adults: The developing ability to respond to and engage with adults.
  • Interaction with Peers: The developing ability to respond to and engage with other children.

Easter fun last week

To celebrate Easter last week, we did a few fun activities. Last Wednesday we used plastic Easter eggs to paint with! On Friday, we had enough hard boiled eggs for everyone to decorate. We used cool whip and food dye to decorate them. :)

Easter egg towers

Today, we made Easter egg towers! At first, the tower kept falling down. After a few attempts we decided to take all of the rounded edges out and keep the pointed edges in to build with. We realized that this made for a more stable tower. :)

Giraffe project continued...:)

This morning, all of our friends strung our life size giraffe's legs together! With help from our teachers, we got all four of the legs put together. :) We are one more step closer to getting it completely finished. We just need to assemble his neck and head!

  • Expressive Language: The developing ability to produce the sounds of language and use vocabulary and increasingly complex utterances.
  • Imitation: The developing ability to mirror, repeat, and practice the actions of others, either immediately or later.
