Playground Painting Party!

Happy Summer solstice!! This afternoon in the heat of the day we play it cool by painting the playground. What you don't see any colors? I challenge you to imagine all the colors we painted! We now have painting stations around our outdoor classroom for friends to pour and paint! I have a feeling this is going to be a big hit this summer!

Some Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines included here are:

Fine Motor: Hold small objects in one hand and sometimes use both hands together to manipulate objects.
Health: Demonstrate the stamina and energy to participate in daily activities.
Social Understanding: The developing understanding of the responses, communication, emotional expressions, and actions of other people.
Recognition of Ability: Experiment with different ways of making things happen.

We worked on our fine motor skills by making bubbles and using bubble wands. Next week we will continue to have fun with bubbles and water since its summer summer time. Stay tuned for pictures of our new water wall construction and play...

Welcome to our classroom Ms. Ella! We had so much fun playing outside yesterday. The weather has been absolutely beautiful.

Interaction with Peers: Engage in simple back-and-forth interactions with peers for short periods of time.

While we were outside today, we practiced jumping off of the tire in our sand box! As you can see, we had lots of fun!

Gross Motor: Move from one place to another by walking and running with basic control and coordination.
Health: Demonstrate the stamina and energy to participate in daily activities.
Interaction with Adults: Participate in routines and games that involve complex back-and-forth interaction.
Receptive Language: Show understanding of one-step requests that have to do with the current situation.
