By: Miss Christa Today is Friday!!! What a busy week we have had here in the Toddler room, today we played dress up! Cooper and Jayla were both being lions for a while then Jayla decided to change into a princess dress and put on a little show for us. Cooper and Jayla danced together for a short while. These guys were very cute playing together!

On thursday we ventured onto our iPad and looked at three fun birds the Chickadee, Grosbeak, and the Cardinal. The toddlers were amazed to see the birds but most of all hear what they sound like (it is hard to hear our bird friends through the window). Because of the fascination with hearing what sound birds make I will like to keep playing bird noises in the room during the main portions of the day. I will try to change them up from time to time. Good Wednesday to everyone, this morning was deceiving to us all, it was a little overcast but sunny when we were outside, we even have snow melting all around, however, I looked outside a few hours later and it is windy and very gloomy looking. The preschoolers are all very excited to be able to ride bikes however we still have a lot of snow on our backyard paths, I have been working on the toddler path when I can it is amazing to see how off we were when we were shoveling this winter!!! Any ways here is a very cute picture of Charlotte on one of the little bikes. By: Miss Christa After a short country dance we all danced with colorful scarfs and hair balls that Miss Kathy brought with her what weird props but boy did they have fun. By: Miss Christa Are you curious to see the little birdies who grab your child's attention everyday? My camera does not give them justice, but we have some beautiful birds that grace us with their presents every day. I am hoping to take some more pictures with a better camera so we can find out what kind they are, my guess is Chickadees and Grosbeaks but I am not sure what type. By: Miss Christa
I have a feeling the kids are ready for summer it takes us a while to get all of our snow clothes on to do outside that they all get a bit tired so today they decided to take a rest before we headed out! By: Miss Christa Good Tuesday everyone!! Today we spent some time playing with the preschoolers and Miss Kathy during inside PE. As always Miss Kathy brought her bag off goodies, today she brought shamrock hats, gold nuggets, (a yellow ball) and little leprechauns for us to dance and play with. We all started off dancing a little jig and spinning around, then we each received a gold nugget and tossed it around in our hats, it was a little hard to catch it after we through it in the air though. Next we all had a chance to play with two types of leprechauns one was soft like a stuffed animal and the other was hard and made of plastic. Take a look at a few pictures captured during our fun! The toddlers can't get enough of painting, this time they had no problem diving in or getting messy!! Here are some great photos of our outdoor exploration at the charter school basket ball court. Hi there and happy Thursday to everyone, I’m not sure if many of you have had a chance to read my note on the clipboard from the other day, so I would like to touch base with you all about what our little ones are interested in exploring right now. As some of you know we have a bird feeder outside our window and the children are having a ton of fun watching the birds fly up, eat, and fly away (mostly when we make loud noise or fast motions). I would like to focus on this topic mainly because it has been a huge interest of theirs for a few weeks now and I see a lot of opportunities to expand on this topic. Over time I will like to talk about key bird features like what they eat, what their eggs look like, where they live, what kind of birds we see, etc. I would like to ask for your help, we have a limited amount of materials, manipulative objects, and books about birds, if you may have items you would like to donate or allow us borrow while we learn about birds, it would be greatly appreciated. Each feature may last a week but some may go on for months it all depends on how long the children are interested in them for. I have noticed that some of the projects that the Boulder Journey School children have done seem to do come around in circles so do not be surprised to see a feature arise later in our exploration, like I said earlier it is all up the children and what they show interest in.
Thank you for your help and support Miss Christa |
