By: Miss Christa What a morning we had and what great explorers we have here at the school. today we went over to the Charter School back yard to build forts and see what we could find. along the way we found tall tall grass, lots of beautiful flowers, many sticks (some too big to carry), and even caterpillars!! Oh and baby grasshoppers too!!! We learned so much from mother nature today, for example we were watching a large caterpillar for a while then it stopped moving, we talked and thought that it stopped moving because it was afraid that we were predators wanting to eat it and if it didn't move it may not be so appealing to eat!! We also learned that grasshoppers are sneaky insects and are hard to catch, but with perseverance they were able to catch a few. Kerri Ann and Myself also took a look at the some of the local bushes to check for berries, we have a few ideas for food projects this fall that will include these yummy berries I can't wait till they are ready to eat!!
