Since last week we decided to start our new topic of Scarecrows, we decided that this week we just had to start talking about those little black birds- CROWS! It was such a blast to watch our friends paint their special scarecrows! After we painted our scarecrows it was time to head outside for a little fun in the snow! We started out building a snowman....But then we remembered it was National Hug a Bear Day! We decided to alter our idea just a bit and turn our snow man into a snow BEAR! We couldn't wait to hug him once he was all finished! He was adorable. Some Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines included here are:
Today the Halloween/Fall fun continued. As a classroom, we cracked open a pumpkin and dug out all the little seeds. The Pumpkin was "Slimy" and "Cold" and "Wet". We practiced moving our small muscles and using our fine motor skills as we explored the orange pumpkin. We used more than just our senses to explore this pumpkin, we used spoons to help us manipulate those teeny little seeds out of the slimy flesh of the pumpkin. According to Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines, we illustrated and practiced our ability to "Hold small objects in one hand and sometimes use both hands together to manipulate objects". It was quite the task but we had such an awesome time!
Today while we were playing outside we got to enjoy the snow! We decided to build a snowman.

This morning we practiced our fine motor skills by doing some coloring with crayons.
