The Preschoolers are currently talking about worms and other things that live in the ground and in the toddler room we are talking about what birds eat. During our quiet / reading time this morning I asked the toddlers what birds like to eat we all agreed that they like to eat small fish, bugs, worms, and seeds and that they do not like to eat carpet, meat (but both of the girls said that they like meat!), grass, or dirt. With their help we decided that when we put seeds in dirt that it will create a plant and from that plant we will get a lot of vegetables for us to eat. I explained that we were going to start the seeds inside so the birds wouldn't eat our seeds they were glad that the seeds would be safe! When we joined the preschoolers everyone helped to plant some of the crops that will need the extra time inside to grow.
