Hello everyone and happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! Our theme at preschool this week is "summer bucket lists" and we started today off by creating one! Each child told me about the summer activities that they wished to complete this summer. Sounds like parents will be very busy :) The kids asked me what a bucket list was and I explained to them it was kind of like a wish list of things they wanted to do. I told them that I had a bucket list too, but it wasn't just for the summer, it was for my life. For example, I have always wanted to go sky diving. Then we got on the topic of what sky diving was. But I really think the preschoolers liked talking about summer activities they wanted to accomplish! I can't wait to start crossing things off their lists. Enjoy the rest of your Monday and we will see you tomorrow!!

Hello everyone! Mother's Day is almost upon us and today the preschoolers and I finished making our gifts to give to those very special moms! I hope the mothers enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them! Today was also a day I gathered the kids and asked them to write their ABC's and numbers. They all did really well and I tried to make it fun for them by using dry erase marker boards. Games are also an easy and fun way to get children to learn their letters and numbers. Thanks to Pinterest, I have a few new ideas to try :) I hope every mom has an amazing Mother's Day and weekend!!! Enjoy! By Miss Michelle
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your week has gone wonderfully so far. Today at preschool we made our Mother's Day gifts. We also discussed why we love our moms and everything that they do for us. Some of the answers I got when I asked the preschoolers what they loved about their mothers was very entertaining for me!! I found out that most NRP moms make the best pancakes and waffles in the world :) I hope the mothers enjoy their presents! We also had buddy reading today over at the charter school. As always, the preschoolers and I had a lot of fun interacting with our buddies! I love to see how great the third and fourth graders are with the preschoolers. They truly make them feel special on every visit! By Miss Michelle Happy Tuesday everyone! As usual we were very busy at preschool today! We started the day by planting a few vegetables that we will transplant into our garden soon. Hopefully we will have tomatoes, cabbage, green beans, and squash soon growing in our garden! The preschoolers and I are very excited!! Miss Kathy also came to visit us today and we did a lot of fun things with her involving spring time and gardening! She even brought some peas for us to plant in our playground! The preschoolers and I always have a great time with Miss Kathy and we are so grateful she can come see us every week!! Have a wonderful Tuesday and we will be back tomorrow :) By Miss Michelle
Hello NRP friends and family! I hope everyone had a great weekend. It is such a beautiful day outside! The preschoolers and I are taking full advantage of it too. One of the fun things we did today was make a sand castle. It was such a great learning experience for them and for me! We learned that wet sand is much better to use because it holds the shape of the bucket much better than dry sand does. We also learned that knocking it down and stomping on it is almost as much fun as building it! The kids and I are also talking about Mother's Day gift ideas too. They have come up with some very good gift ideas that I think every mother will love :) Please enjoy the rest of your Monday!!!! By Miss Michelle
Happy Thursday everyone!! Today at preschool, to stick with our spring time theme, we learned about frogs and toads. We started off by watching a short video about frogs and toads. On this video, we learned that frogs and toads a different in a lot of ways. For example, frogs need water to survive but toads do not. Also frogs can jump a lot higher and further than toads can. Next, the preschoolers and I made our own frogs to take home with us! Miss Kerri Ann found a wonderful book about frogs and other amphibians. We took this book along with us on our hunt for frogs!! Sad to say, we didn't find any toads or frogs, but we did have a great time looking for them! Miss Suzy was also nice enough to join us again today! We love having her upbeat and fun personality with us on Thursdays! Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great weekend NRP parents!! |
