Today at school, Nicole and I took the kids biking at the Steamboat Lake! It was a gorgeous day for this field trip because the rain finally stopped and it wasn't too hot out. We also haven't been biking there for a few weeks and I know the kiddos really enjoy it! One special thing we saw today was a tractor drive by us and head down towards the lake. It looked like the park ranger was trying to fix the dock using this tractor. However, some of the kids thought the man driving was trying to fish :) When I asked if they think he would catch a lot of fish, they said "No way! He is being way too loud!" I love these guys; they're so smart!!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good afternoon to you all! Wednesdays during the summer time mean gymnastics day here at NRP! Today everyone was finally back at school and able to attend class. We had a great time! Coach Jessie taught us a few new moves that were fun but challenging! One new thing we did today was walking backwards and sideways on the balance beam. This was rather difficult because it required the kids to really concentrate and keep their eyes down. It also required them to take their time, which usually isn't what they want to do. After weeks of practice, the children were getting really good at doing their seat jumps on the trampoline. Even the kids that have been absent picked this up, probably from previous classes! I love seeing now far they have come not only with their balance, but how they follow instructions during class. Today was hard to hear sometimes because so many kids were playing and running around, but everyone did a great job! Tomorrow, weather permitting, we are planning to bike at Steamboat Lake! Happy Tuesday everyone! Today at school, Nicole and I took the kiddos to our second to last strings concert. A man named Dr. Noise performed for us today and he was fantastic! We really enjoyed watching him because he was funny and very talented! He played many different instruments like the piano, guitar, drums and the saxophone. Dr. Noise was very good at singing as well! The kids and I really liked how he jumped into the crowd and came up to us to give high fives! He also invited people up onto the stage to dance with him, but we didn't want to make other kids jealous with our awesome dance moves, so we stayed in the crowd ;) Another special thing we saw was Dr. Noise and five fathers from the audience singing "Old McDonald had a Farm"! They sounded great together, even though they didn't know all of the words! Tomorrow, we are going to another gymnastics class with Coach Jessie! We will see you then! By: Miss Christa It was nice to spend a lot of time outside before the weather is suppose to comes in! While playing outside there were two areas of interest; on the Toddler side we played with rocks and made a Chocolate Fire in the gazebo. However on the Preschool side of the playground the older kids were playing a gross motor game of Capture and Save, so first everyone would be captured / tied up and then someone would come to the rescue to untie everyone, most times it was the same person who helped tie everyone up! What fun they were all having! By Miss Michelle
Happy Thursday NRP family and friends! Today the kiddos and I ventured up to Steamboat Lake hoping to get some quality swimming time in before the storm hit!! Thankfully we had enough time to play around and get really drenched, even though it was a bit windy. Everyone had fun at the beach even though Miss Michelle forgot all of our beach toys at school. We got very creative, using our hands to mold sand castles and dig holes for water. Everybody got very dirty, but that's how we know we had a great time! Right when we arrived back at school, the storm hit and it started to rain. Miss Nicole and I then taught the kids how to count between each lightening and thunder to determine how many miles away the storm is! Mostly they just really loved to hide from the scary thunder :) I wish everyone a fun and safe weekend! I'll see you back here on Monday! By Miss Michelle
Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are enjoying with beautiful day as much as we are at school. Today, Nicole and I took the kids down to our third gymnastics class with Coach Jessie. Just like the two previous classes, everybody had a great time! I love to see how much the children remember. At this class, our coach didn't have to demonstrate every obstacle course to us because the kids remembered what we needed to do on the different mats. Smart little kiddos! Everyone's favorite part today was racing each other then jumping into the tunnel!! My favorite part today was jumping on the trampoline!!! Yes, that's right, Miss Nicole and I both got the chance to jump with the kids today and it was a lot of fun! I can see why it's so hard to get them off of it ;) Enjoy the rest of your afternoon and we will see you tomorrow! By Miss Michelle
Hello NRP parents and friends! I was out sick yesterday, but came back today ready to rock this next strings concert! Thank goodness too because today we saw an African band that included drummers, dancers, and singers! It was a really great show that kept us moving and grooving! I enjoyed how well the band interacted with the crowd. They even taught us a little dance, but it was a lot harder than we thought. Their outfits were defiantly something that caught our attention and something that really made the show authentic. Another great day here at preschool and everyone is so excited to go to gymnastics tomorrow!! Have a wonderful night everybody! By Miss Kerri Ann
Emma, Dan and I are so glad to be back from our Disney trip. We had a great time but as always were reminded of why we live here with a day at Steamboat Lake yesterday. We had a quiet day today as several kids are away. We enjoyed playing in the garden sprinkler and making chocolate milk in the sandbox. If you have not seen our garden lately check out the zucchini and green beans growing there! By Miss Michelle
Today at school, we had a little change of plan, but thankfully you parents are amazing! Instead of biking at Steamboat Lake, Nicole and I decided to take the kids to the lake. They loved it and so did we!! The last time we played at the lake, no one had their swimsuits or sand toys to play with. This time everyone was properly dressed and fully stocked with sand toys! We made sand castles complete with a mote and hot tubs complete with "hot" water! The kiddos also saw some of their friends from the charter school and had time to catch up with them! Another fun filled day here at NRP! Have a great weekend everyone! By Miss Michelle
Today at school, Nicole, the kids and I traveled to our second gymnastics class! It was so much fun and I loved seeing how much they remembered from last weeks class. They participated in different obstacles that were somewhat similar to those last Wednesday. Everyone told me that again their favorite part of class is free time, but they also got to jump on a new trampoline today that led them to the pit. Everyone got two chances to jump on this new contraption; doing different jumps each time. It looked like so much fun, Miss Nicole and I wanted to join them too! Tomorrow we have a slight change in plans. Instead of biking at Steamboat Lake, we are going to wade water. So please bring a long your child's swimsuit and I towel for them! Thanks and we will see you then! |
