By: Miss Christa The Preschool would like to give a big Thank You to Tim Wright who so cleverly and creatively made us not one but two light tables. In the pictures you will see one that was made from a old coffee table that was about to find a home in the dumpster, however, Tim miraculously transformed it into a piece of art!! The other one is in need of lights still but was cleverly made from a small water table, and as a bonus it can easily be converted back into a water table when needed. The kids had a blast water color painting over the light we saw what it would look like if we turned the paints over and let the colors mix together, what would happen if we mixed blue with yellow... now what happens if all of the colors mix together? The end is near for our preschool garden, today we picked a few of the carrots. I am sad to see it slowly disappear because I know snow will be here soon, but I am already dreaming of the garden we will have next year.

By Kerri Ann When Georgia and Daniel were unble to find the play phones on the palyground, they improvised. Using bubble wands as telephones they had this conversation: Georgia: "Where are you?" Daniel: "At my house." Georgia: "Want to come to our store?" Daniel: "I have a lot to do today at home. I am getting the rocks out of my socks." Georgia: "He's too busy. Bye." Daniel: "Bye." It is great to see these two using conventional rules of language in their conversations. I love bubble wand phones! By Miss Kerri Ann Three year old Georgia joined our class today. I was so proud to see how welcoming all of our prescholers were to this new student. Peter and Daniel taught Georgia how to play CandyLand, Delia and Jada played with her in the kitchen and all of the preschoolers shared peas from our garden. What a great opportunity to practice our social skills! By: Miss Christa Here are some pictures from our fun filled PE hour, Miss Kathy knows how to get our bodies moving and our minds creating. Today we were able to meet some or our Charter School Buddies, and play on the playground for the first time since it moved from the old school site. We are looking forward to a very exciting PE year with our buddies. By: Miss Christa
What is more fun then kicking our shoes off? Here are a few pictures of our foot print tracing. We talked about who's feet were large and who's feet are small. Our findings were that Miss Kerri Ann's feet are the largest, followed by a tie between Daniel and Delia, Jada, Grayson, then Jayla. by Miss Kerri Ann We spent part of our day exploring the Toddler room. Dramatic play was so prevelent today that Miss Christa and I are brianstorming ways to set up a theater space in our school. We are wondering how this kind of play can be encouraged by creating an environment specifically for it. Here is a clip of Jada and Peter engaged in dramatic play. Peter is the "Dad" saving his daughter from falling into the hot lava. In case you didn't know, hot lava is a common hazard in our preschool classroom. Enjoy! What a wild field trip we had today, Miss Kathy's property was so inviting. It was almost like we were on a scavenger hunt one child would find a squirrel hole and then another one would be found!! Often while a child is playing outside their attention will stray from toy to toy or game to game today our little ones choose to play with the water table. The water toy that Jayla and Violet are playing with has a scale once one side is full it will dump so the other side can fill up, this ac
By Miss Kerri Ann Daniel and Peter spent a lot of time playing with our widget set this morning. Widgets are great because they teach classification skills (color and size), math skills (number of pieces) and cognitive skills. We have widget cards with pictures that the boys were trying to recreate. On the back of these cards it lists how many of each piece that is needed. Watch this clip of the boys and their widgets: That's not all we did today! Outside, we harvested some of our garden to send home with a few families. If you don't get vegetables this week, don't worry. We will have squash to send home next week! We will make sure you all get to enjoy our harvest. Here are a few cute pictures of some other activites today: ![]() This is a picture of the "worm bed" that Daniel and Jada made in our garden today. They had a pile of worms to put down for a nap! ![]() In this picture, Jada helps Violet learn to write using the hand over hand method. I loved watching Jada nuture her younger classmate! |
