Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you enjoyed this day as much as we did! For some kids it's their last day at preschool because school is starting soon! It's also Miss Nicole's last day. We will miss her greatly, but we are so happy we got to know her. She taught everyone many things and we wish her all the best with her future! Today we visited Miss Kathy for the second time this summer. We had so much fun! The kids got to go on a tractor ride that they were very excited about! They were not disappointed. We also played around her property; through the trees and grass areas. Everyone's favorite part was playing at the beach area right behind her house!! Miss Kathy even lent us shovels and buckets to play with and we built a dam and raging river! It was great to see them all working together to build this river and dam! I think we have a few future engineers around here!! Thanks so much to Miss Kathy for letting us come and enjoy your beautiful property! The kids and teachers always have a great time!!

Good Wednesday afternoon everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day! Instead of hiking today, Nicole and I decided to keep the kiddos around here. We were a little nervous about all the rain we were suppose to get. But we still managed to have an amazing time! Everyone brought cones out to the charter school parking lot and made an obstacle course to ride their bikes through. They also did races with one another. When that got boring, I brought out jump ropes and we counted how many times everyone could jump. The record is being held by yours truly, at the count of four! Guess we all need some practice. Tomorrow we are planning on going to see Miss Kathy! It will be our final field trip of the summer! Soon school will start, but hopefully the kids don't forget how much fun we had this summer!! Happy Tuesday everyone and good afternoon! Today Nicole and I took the kiddos down to Steamboat to the fun park! Inside the park we explored the Amazing Maze! This thing is true to its name; it is very tricky to find your way in there! Nicole and I were lost several times trying to help the kids find their way. If you hear your child begging to return to this place it is probably because we didn't find all of the checkpoints in time. Every child was given a card or passport before we entered the maze. On that passport were four different checkpoints we had to find within the maze. If you find all four in twelve minutes you get a prize. Well, it took us a few more minutes....around thirty-three minutes to be exact! But we had so much fun trying! By Miss Michelle
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you're enjoying this beautiful day! It was our last day of gymnastics for the summer and it ended with a bang! The kids were really happy that we got more free time to play around the gym. Everybody got the chance to play in their favorite area and most of the kiddos picked the pit! The coaches had a new thing to jump off of and it was really high! Almost everyone was brave enough to jump off it, but not me! They all thought it was really funny because Miss Michelle is terribly afraid of heights! Tomorrow Nicole and I are taking the kids to Steamboat Lake for swimming and maybe even more crawdad fishing!!! See you then! By Miss Michelle Good afternoon NRP friends and family! Today at school, Nicole and I took the kiddos out to Pearl Lake. Like I said yesterday, we haven't been there since the beginning of the summer and was excited to see it again! The lake was as big and beautiful as we remembered it to be. Although this time we did something that we didn't do last time, which was crawdad fishing! It was my first time and so much fun!! We used hotdogs as bait and almost everyone caught one, but we didn't keep them because the silly teachers forgot to bring a bucket for them! I really loved this adventure and I know the kids did too! Hopefully we can find some time to do more crawdad fishing before the summer ends! See everyone tomorrow for our last gymnastics class of the summer! By Miss Michelle Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend! Today the kids and the teachers got a special treat here at school. We walked the trail to the Clark Store and got ice cream! Everyone really enjoys this, not only because the ice cream is yummy, but because they get to order and pay for their own! It's a great learning opportunity for each child because they learn the value of money. For example, we had one child today who really wanted a large cup of ice cream. However, I explained to her that she didn't have enough money to purchase a large cup. Learning is so much more fun when you get ice cream after! Tomorrow, Nicole and I will be taking the kids to Pearl Lake for another hike. We haven't been there since the beginning of the summer, so we're excited to see if it's any different or if it's exactly the same. See you then! By Miss Michelle
Good evening everyone!!! I apologize for my absence these few days, I had to travel back to Iowa for a family emergency! Rest assured I am back in the saddle and ready to rock! Today at school, Nicole and I took the kids to Steamboat Lake for another biking adventure. Some of the kiddos had new bikes to ride and to practice on because they're outgrowing their old ones. It is also great to see the younger children working on their balance with the strider bikes. Next summer we'll have everyone on big kid bikes! I hope everyone has a great night and I'll see you again tomorrow!!! By Miss Kerri Ann
Sorry that I neglected to post the past few days. Miss Michelle had to return to Iowa for a few days do I have been spending more time with the Preschoolers this week. We had a great time at our last Strings concert of the year yesterday. The Billy Jonas Band uses recycled objects to make music. They did a great job keeping the kids engaged! Today we went to gymnastics. I am so impressed at how well the students follow directions and how skilled they are getting at basic gymnastics moves. This was the first time that I got to go this year and I loved to see how far they have come in the past 7 weeks. Here are a few pics of our day. |
