Sorry that I didn't post much this week. We had a great time building with cardboard throughout the week. These kids are so creative! We also enjoyed Buddy Reading on Wednesday and Yoga on Thursday. Here are a few pics from the week.

Today was truly a child centered day! I had plans to start a dental theme, but the students were so engrossed in their own plans that I chose to let then take the lead. several of the preschoolers built great structures in the block area. I love to see them building vertically. They are showing such ingenuity in their structures! We created a new number game as a way to introduce some numeral words. We chose to color coordinate this game so that the children could work on classification skills as well as mathematics. We also drew some pictures for our fish to enjoy. On Friday, we set up a second fish tank for the baby fish that appeared in our tank. Swordfish are live bearers, so if this pair is breeding we may have more babies on the way!
I hope everyone is having a good day! By miss Kerri Ann By: Ms Christa Happy Thursday! Today we had a special visitor! Our Library friend Jennifer came to our school to read to us! We usually walk over to the Charter school and join our kindergarten friends however because of Blues Break we were able to show her our school. Before Library time the preschoolers spent time painting numbers look at the colorful numbers. After Library time we went to the small sliding hill for a while. it felt a little like Mardi Gras in the preschool room today when the students decided to tie scarves together to put in the wind tunnel. The result was a very colorful sash flying through the air! We talked more about our treasure chest and what goals we could set to gain a reward. We also read "Franklin and The Tooth Fairy" as an introduction to our dental theme.
by Miss Kerri Ann We have been exploring wind these past few days. Today we held balloon races with wind blown through straws. We've Alison been experimenting with our wind tunnel. It's fun ton slant the tunnel and shoot goals! We also leArned that weak wind allows balloons to float and dance just above the tunnel. Another ongoing activity this week is our ice fishing game. Using magnets, the students can fish for paper clipped fish. The fish are all different colors and have letters on them so we are building literacy and classification skills while playing.
