This week has been wonderful! We have had our hands full with sewing projects, building spider webs (and drawing spiders in them), learning about Elk, listening to a wonderful brass band, playing our own trumpet, making lavender bouquets, AND hanging the birdhouses that we built for the Steamboat Lake State Park bluebird project! Check out all of our adventures from the week in the pictures below!

What a great week!
Monday Miss Alex came for the morning to practice yoga with us! We have missed her since the summer started. The campers LOVED the yoga poses we worked on, and were very excited to get wiggly, silly and serious all at once inside! Strings was once again a blast this week with a lot of dancing and crazy songs. Today, we worked on some plants for the greenhouse. Each child made his or her own chia pet AND we planted some special butterfly flowers! We also dusted off the old balance board and practiced our skills on it out on the playground! Hello! Summer seems to be flying by!
This week was super fun. Monday, Mr Eric came to the school from Steamboat Lake to do a naturalist program on habitats! We played a really neat game that helped us learn about deer and how they live in their habitats. The kids didn't want Mr Eric to leave! Tuesday, we saw Trout Fishing in America play at Strings! They were wonderful! Some slides of that field trip can be seen in the post below. Wednesday, we stayed at the school and made smoothies! We also did a little bit of hiking around outside. Today, we went up to Fetcher Ranch to read with Book Trails! It was a blast. We read the Steamboat ABCs and had an amazing time playing the the creek catching bugs and fish with the Book Trails Campers. All in all, a super fun week. We are very excited to have our greenhouse go up this weekend. Some of the kids have been helping with the base right outside the playground. Be sure to check it out when you are here next. Well, it has been a busy week so far! Monday, we went down to the library for story time. Miss Sara read some books "about me" and everyone got to go up in front of the group and share a talent! It was pretty fun. Yesterday, we went to Strings Music Festival and saw the Alphabet Rockers play! They were really inspiring and the campers really loved all the new dance moves we learned! Finally, with the weather, we have been stuck inside quite a bit. That has left room for a lot of fun crafting and indoor music time, art and games. We love the rain, especially when we get to stomp around in our mud boots.
