It has been a super fun week!
We made ornaments and sang lots of holiday songs. Today we unwrapped some new toys for the preschool, one is magnetic blocks and the other is a magnet science kit! The class explored these things all morning! Check out some pictures below. This week we have been talking a lot about snowmen!
We made Oobleck on Monday and many of the kiddos rolled their Oobleck into balls and built tiny snowmen in the sensory table. From there, we have been reading a lot of snow books! Frosty the Snowman, A Snowy Day, Santa Cows...it has been awesome! We also added a new buddy to our classroom as we celebrated Theo's third birthday this week! The whole class is really excited to welcome him into our daily routine. Yesterday, Miss Kerri Ann worked with the class to cut out circles and glue some snowmen together on paper. They had a blast! Today, we built a snowman on the ground outside! We didn't have the right temps or snow for the actual snowman, so we drew circles on the ground, filled them with snow and built him flat! We have also been measuring the amaryllis twice a week and keeping a chart of its growth! Its growing fast!! Check out the photos below to see what we've been up to. This week has been amazing! We have been working with letters a lot recently, alphabet bingo, building letters with legos, writing letters in the snow and working in our journals! It has been really great to see the class so excited about getting journals out..we usually work on them first thing in the morning and then right after rest-time in the afternoon. We also made some tin-foil paintings! Be sure to check them out on the wall above the cubbys!
Since we are now in the thick of winter, we have been talking about snow and snowmen. We have been singing about snowmen and even drawing them! The kiddos got the best idea yesterday and they formed a band while we were practicing some songs...after they performed for me the went down to the toddler room to sing. Miss Kathy, as always was wonderful this week. We learned about Hanukkah yesterday, and today we went to the charter school and dug snow caves and tunnels with the NRCCS peers. Its been a great week! I am looking forward to celebrating the holidays with our class. |
