Today we used our lists of things the children were thankful for to create some really fun colorful pumpkins. Orange, green, and purple! I had a great time working on this! Some of the things listed were funny, sentimental and just so true to the personalities. What a fabulous group to work with!!

This morning we read a book called "Thanksgiving is for Giving Thanks" and talked about what it means to be thankful for something. We brainstormed a list as a group of what the kids are thankful for and we wrote lists in our journals. We will be following up this activities tomorrow with a craft using their lists. We also would like to welcome our shy group of fish to the classroom!! By Miss Melissa

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!! We spent some time this morning working together with the mable track. Then we read some stories picked out by the birthday boy. We posted a special message on the chalk board and made a birthday treat. By Miss Melissa
This morning, by popular demand we made a visit to the NRP Puppet Theater. All the children took turns patiently and were an awesome audience as their friends made up some really fun puppet productions. We saw horses with riders, frog & alligator, an interesting retelling of "the bad wolf and the little pig" among others. What an entertaining way to spend a snowy morning! By Miss Melissa
This morning the children drew pictures of what they thought their jellyfish would look like. Some of the kids were not here when we stared the project and worked in the first step while the others put the tentacles on their jelly fish in progress. The finished products are georgious! This morning North Routt woke up to the storm moving in.. The children all rejoiced in watching the flakes fly. We went out to play as the snow kept coming down. We build an awesome snow man and made the first snow angles of the season. By: Miss Christa Not a lot going on here today but the usual fun and games, Miss Melissa introduced oil pastels to everyone, to show how easy it is to combine colors together they created a color wheel. After the art project everyone spent some time outside while the weather was nice now that the clouds have rolled in not too sure how nice it will be later in the day. We are all ready for the weekend. By Miss Melissa
This morning, sparked by the children's intest in using ribbon, they started making jellyfish. We started with paper, glue and ribbon and created some 2 dimensional jellies. Then, after talking about how else we wanted to explore the idea of making jellyfish we started on some 3 dimensional ones using balloons, glue and coffee filters. I cannot wait to see where we go from here! Today the kids explored artists watercolor paint and practiced mixing colors. It was fun to listen the the children chat while they painted. I heard many comments and revelations about their color experimentation like, "Look guys, red and blue together makes purple!" And "when I mixed blue and green I got turquoise!"
