Garden time :)

Gardening and more. Above are some pictures portraying the variety and potential this project has for our classroom. There is a worm garden in the making, first stages at least. Some seedlings have been planted to begin indoors before they continue their life span outdoors. And finally there are a couple of pictures displaying students learning about the differences between seeds and questions such as: What is a seed? Where do they come from? How do they possibly turn into plants? The gardening project has fostered curiosity and initiative from students, teachers, and other community members.

Some of the Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines targeted:

• Initiative and Curiosity: An interest in carried topics and activities, a desire to learn, creativity, and independence in learning
  
• Conceptual Knowledge of the Natural and Physical World: The acquisition of concepts and facts related to the natural and physical world and the understanding of naturally-occurring relationships.
