Today we had Eric from Steamboat Lake State park visit our school. He brought pelts and skulls of many local animal and the children got to touch and explore them. Eric talked to us about what each animal ate, how the teeth were different and other interesting facts. We studied beaver, skunk, fox, coyote, muskrat, raccoon, and black bear. The children were captivated by the specimens and really enjoyed listening to Eric. We plan to work on making a thank you card this afternoon and tomorrow. What fun!!
